As 2011 draws to a conclusion, enjoy this pretty amazing and artsy collection of slow-mo HD shots. There are some ripper ones in here!

Ground Control Trailer
A trailer for an artsy extreme sports film. How unexpected!
It is for a roller blading video though – the second least cool extreme sport. There is judicious use of artsy film techniques. So that’s a win.
Smashing Drinks in HD
No real point to this one, just some very attractive beverages getting mixed and smashed in slow motion. A few cocktails, a Coor light, some ice, and some slow motion rage. Awesome.
Not even that artsy. So very, very tasty though.
RC Helicopter w/ Canon 7D
This guy (http://vimeo.com/user2360674) built an awesome RC helicopter rig to hold his very decent cameras. It works a treat, as some of these test shots show. (think Canon 7D $$$$). I can’t wait till some super artsy types use a rig like this to capture some extreme sports.
Watch the video after the jump.
HIGH Skateboarding Film
HIGH gets 4.6 artsy points out of five. It is incredibly well put together. So artsy.
Girl and Chocolate Skateboarding Film
Spike Jonze has produced/directed ‘Girl & Chocolate’ – a skateboarding film that will probably raise the bar even higher for the genre. And my god, is it artsy. Excellent! There is also reckless destruction of skateboards and also skaters, which is always exciting.
It has awesome camera work, sexy music, blood, and of course – aggressive use of slow motion footage. Can’t wait. Check it out below.
Never Forget Beautiful Afghanistan
Don’t forget how beautiful Afghanistan is, despite… war. It’s an amazing place, dusty roads and orchards, with a backdrop of epic mountain ranges.
It is chilling to watch a video such as this, and consider how dehumanized your view of Afghanistan has become after reading or watching hundreds of news reports.
Sad.
1987 – Arsty BMX Film
This video, is too artsy. Even for my artsy self. Robot voice is cool though.
It would become apparent if you checked my YouTube and Vimeo history that I really, really do like artsy extreme sports videos. They combine the excitement of sports I cannot play particularly well, with the beauty that HD, slow-mo, GoPro, Twixtor and chill beats (music) all combine to offer. This one needs a bit more BMX, a bit less artsy-ness.
It’s also an advertisement for G-Shock watches. If you don’t pick that up.
